PRESS RELEASE Sure price changes a necessity to continue to deliver services

The price of some of Sure’s services will increase from 1 October 2025 as it continues to invest in on-island services as per its exclusive licence agreement with the Falkland Islands Government.

These are the first price changes from Sure since 2023, and the first changes to Broadband and Mobile prices in more than five years. In 2024 Sure increased Broadband and Mobile quotas and package allowances without changing prices, giving customers greater value for money.

Roma Stewart, Chief Executive of Sure Falkland Islands, explained why the changes are necessary: “We have made every effort to keep price changes to a minimum, with some services remaining unchanged, but the increases are needed due to the rising costs of providing services to the islands.

“We recognise the importance of reliable connectivity and continuously invest to maintain the services our customers need. We know it’s a difficult time for many customers and the decision to change prices is never one we make unless absolutely necessary, as is demonstrated by the infrequency of our price changes. I am proud of how we have managed to keep prices stable for a long time while improving services.

“We would like to thank our customers in advance for understanding that these modest increases are necessary for us to continue to serve the Falkland Islands community.”

A letter has been sent to customers detailing the price changes and details have been posted on Sure’s website. These price changes are permitted within the exclusive licence and Price Cap Agreement between Sure and the Falkland Islands Government and are managed by the Communications Regulator.

If customers have any questions or concerns about the changes they can email falklands.info@sure.com
